I’m Laura Holway. I work as a freelance arts educator + choreographer. I also help artists and small businesses promote themselves as part of McGinley Motion, the company I started with my husband, Ben.
This blog was started in the summer of 2011 to deal with a serious case of artist’s block, and a need for life re-evaluation. It now serves as a place to talk about creative solutions for working artists and small businesses. And, to document the process of building a creative life that makes me want to do jazz hands of excitement when I wake up in the morning.
The artist interviews share thoughts and advice from working artists. The resource posts are just that: exercises, books and websites that talk about the challenges freelancers and small businesses face.
Inevitably, there are many posts about food, because that’s what we talk about a lot at my house.
